Customer Service

The Customer Service Desk is in the main concourse and can help with transport, ticket reservations, accommodation and general tourist information.

Check-in

The check-in area at Kerry Airport is located in the main concourse. We recommend that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure of their flight. Be advised that the Boarding Gates will close at 30 minutes before departure time and passengers may be refused boarding after this deadline as per your airline booking conditions.

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is located in the departure lounge. The shop stocks a wide range of perfumes, spirits, wines, whiskey, chocolates, leather goods, jewellery, pottery, books, magazines and many more leading brand gifts. An ideal place to purchase that last minute gift.

Telephones

Public Telephones are situated in various locations throughout the airport.

Wireless Broadband

The Airport provides Wi-Fi free of charge throughout the airport. Just choose Kerry Airport on your device to connect.

Restaurant & Bar

The Airport has a fully licensed bar and restaurant which is located in the main concourse. The bar provides a wide variety of beers, spirits and wines. The restaurant offers an excellent selection of hot and cold meals, snacks, teas, coffees and soft drinks.

Car Rental

Several international car hire companies operate out of Kerry Airport. The car hire companies are now located in the Long Term Car Park.

Please Note: Car hire companies should be contacted directly, and not through the Kerry Airport main switchboard as the car rentals are separate to the airports telephone system.

There is NO Car Park ‘pre-booking’ facility operating at Kerry Airport. During busy periods – an overflow area is opened in the Long Term Car Park – please follow the signage. Passengers are advised to take a ticket on entrance to the Car Parks and pay for same via the Paystations in the Main Terminal. Payments can be made by Cash and/or Credit Cards.

There are two main car parks located at Kerry Airport – Short and Long Term.

Short Term Parking

The short term car park is located directly outside the main terminal building and is ideal for meeting or dropping someone off to a flight, overnight or short term stays.

Current Rate: First Half Hour Free – €2.50 to €12 per day, depending on length of stay up to 24 hours.

Long Term Parking

The long term car park is located within two minutes walk of the main terminal building. It is ideal for long stays such as long weekends or holidays.

Current Rate: First Hour Free – From €10 per day, depending on length of stay up to 24 hours.

Disabled Car Parking

There are 10 disabled parking spaces available for passengers with disabilities at Kerry Airport. These spaces are available in the short term car park to allow easy access to the main terminal.

Current Rate: €10 per 24 hours and €10 per day or part-thereof after 24 hrs.

Blue Badge Holders are advised (on their return flight) to take their Badge + Entry Ticket to the Information Desk whereby staff will issue a NEW ticket at Long Term rate for payment at the nearest Pay Machine. Car Park charges apply to all Blue Badge Users availing of Kerry Airport parking facilities but will be applied at Long Term parking rates rather than Short Term rates.

There are two payment options at the Car Park Pay Stations – Euro coins/notes and major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa)

Assistance for persons with Reduced Mobility or those who require Special Assistance

Persons with disabilities or persons with restricted mobility may require different levels of assistance as they pass through the airport.

Departing Passengers will be given assistance appropriate to their needs including:

Assistance from their Car, Taxi or Bus to the terminal
Assistance at check-in
Assistance through security to the Departures lounge
Boarding the aircraft

Arriving Passengers will be given assistance appropriate to their needs including:

Disembarking the aircraft
Proceeding from the aircraft, with completion of immigration procedures to the arrivals hall
Collection of luggage
Moving from the arrivals hall to the designated meeting point, the Information Desk
Assistance to your car, taxi or bus

Our staff are trained in looking after persons with reduced mobility and will give whatever assistance is required to ensure you have a pleasant journey through the airport.

Notification to your Airline

In order to deliver the most effective service to passengers who require these services, persons with reduced mobility should contact and notify their airline, travel agent or tour operator with details of their assistance requirements at least 48 hours in advance of the departure of their flight.

Departing Passengers

Persons requiring assistance from the car park

Persons who need assistance to go from their car to the terminal building should drive to the entrance to the Short Term Car Park and press the Assistance Button on the entrance ticket machine. The call will be answered by one of our Customer Services staff and you should state what type of assistance you require. Press the button for the ticket and when you take it the barrier will be raised. Turn left immediately and drive approx. 40 metres towards the terminal building and park in the designated Disabled Parking area on the right where a member of our ground crew will give whatever assistance you require. If there is a delay in getting assistance please call 066-9764644. When you return from your destination you should go to the Information Desk and our staff will calculate the parking fee at the lower long term rate.

Persons requiring assistance from taxis

Passengers arriving by taxi who require assistance from the taxi to the terminal should get the driver to park in the set down area of the short term car park which is immediately in front of the terminal entrance and ask the driver to go to the Information Desk and ask our staff to arrange assistance. A member of our ground crew will give whatever assistance you require.

Persons requiring assistance from buses

The bus stop is almost immediately in front of the entrance to the terminal. Passengers needing assistance from the bus should ask the bus driver to go to the Information Desk and ask our staff to arrange assistance. A member of our ground crew will give whatever assistance you require.

Persons requiring assistance for checking-in

Persons requiring assistance with check-in should go to the Information Desk which is located immediately in front of you when you enter the terminal. Our staff will then arrange whatever assistance you require including check-in, passage through security, and boarding the aircraft.

Persons requiring assistance after checking-in

Persons who do not need assistance at check-in should check-in as normal and advise our check-in staff what type of assistance you require. Our staff will arrange whatever assistance you require including passage through security and boarding the aircraft.

Security

All passengers must pass through the security point before reaching the departures lounge. This search may be carried by hand or by using a hand held metal detector. If required a private search area away from the main area can be provided.

Arriving Passengers

The airline will notify the airport authority that a passenger needs assistance in disembarking from the aircraft. On arrival you will be met at the aircraft, and the assistance appropriate to your needs will be provided, including:

Disembarking the aircraft
Proceeding from the aircraft, with completion of immigration procedures to the arrivals hall
Collection of luggage
Moving from the arrivals hall to the designated meeting point, the Information Desk
Assistance to your car, taxi or bus

If your family or friends are meeting you at the airport, the designated point where they can meet you is the Information Desk.

Wheelchairs

We have a number of wheelchairs available for passengers for use within the airport. Please ask our staff at check-in or at the Information Desk if you need one. This service is free of charge.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with assistance you (a disabled person/ person with reduced mobility) received when travelling through the airport, then you must first bring it to the attention of the airport management. Contact details:

If your complaint is not resolved at that stage, then you may escalate it to the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA).

Hand Baggage Allowances

Cabin baggage guidelines – Hand luggage dimensions must not exceed 56cm long, 45cm wide, 25cm deep (including wheels, handles, side pockets etc). Please check directly with your airline prior to your flight as some airlines have more restrictive dimensions.

Prohibited Articles

The EU has drawn up a list of prohibited articles that you may not take into the Security Restricted Area of airports or on board the aircraft. The list contains dangerous articles which could jeopardise security, such as explosives and weapons, but also articles that could potentially cause serious injury, such as sharp and blunt items.

When packing your Cabin baggage, you should bear in mind that certain articles, that may appear harmless, are not allowed in your hand luggage for security reasons. These include sprays such as pepper or mace sprays, sharp objects such as knives (with blades over 6cm), drill bits, saw blades or screwdrivers, baseball bats or clubs. Kerry Airport deploys Explosive Detection System equipment for screening Cabin baggage (EDS CB) which means there are no restrictions on the amount of Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) you can bring in your Cabin baggage. Please leave your LAGs inside your baggage.

Laptops, and any other electronic equipment, can also stay inside your baggage.

Safety & Security

To save you time and make your journey more enjoyable, please follow our advice to prepare for the security process.

Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight;
Have travel documents ready for inspection (Boarding passes, passports, etc);
Comply with your airline’s guidelines on cabin baggage size allowance;
Remove jackets and coats and place them in a tray with your Cabin baggage at Security screening;
Be prepared to remove your shoes and belt if instructed to do so at Security screening.

Passports & Visas

Departing from Ireland:
If you are travelling internationally, a valid passport is normally required. For some countries your passport will need to be valid for at least six months after your intended return, and you may also need a visa. Before travelling you should always check your destination country’s entry requirements and allow enough time to renew your passport and/or apply for a visa at the relevant embassy or consulate.

If your passport is lost or stolen you must report it to the Passport Office or your nearest Irish Embassy or Consulate. It may also be worth carrying additional photographic ID separate from your passport.

Entering Ireland:
Passports must be valid for at least three months beyond your length of stay by all passengers entering Ireland except: Persons born in the UK travelling direct from the UK (applicable to British passport holders only).

Note: Whilst UK citizens do not require a passport or visa to enter Ireland, most airlines require some form of identification with photograph, usually a passport or driving licence with photo. EU nationals holding a valid national ID card. Note: EU nationals are only required to produce evidence of their EU nationality and identity in order to be admitted to any EU Member State. This evidence can take the form of a valid national passport or national identity card. Either is acceptable.

Imports & Customs

There are three customs channels in operation at Kerry Airport:

Blue Channel:
Passengers whose journey and flight commenced in another EU country do not have to make any declaration to customs on arrival and may proceed directly through the Blue Channel.

Green & Red Channels:
Passengers who arrive on flights from non-EU countries, the Canary Islands or Channel Islands from an EU airport on a flight that originated outside the EU must clear customs in Ireland by going through either the Green or Red Channel.

You should go through the Green Channel if you are sure that you have:

No more than the allowances to which you are entitled. These are posted on notices around the baggage hall.
No prohibited or restricted goods.

Weekend & Summer Part-Time Student Vacancies

Kerry Airport are looking for a limited number of Weekend & Summer staff on part-time /short-term contract to help us cater for the busy summer season of 2023.

• Weekend vacancies start from 01 March 2023 for Saturdays and Sundays – approx. 10-14 hrs.
• Summer vacancies start from 01. April 2023 to October 2023 – approx. 25-39 hrs.

Full training & uniforms supplied. Must have own transport. Min age 18yrs++
