THE sun has got its hat on for the lucky passengers who took off from Kerry Airport today for the glorious resort of Faro on the Algarve. It was the first flight on the new schedule to the Portuguese destination with Ryanair which will operate twice weekly from now until the end of June and three times a week in July & August.
Financial Controller at Kerry Airport, Basil Sheerin said: “We were delighted when Ryanair announced that they would be introducing two new sun routes from Kerry. The flights to Alicante in Spain have proven to be very successful since they commenced at the start of March. Early bookings suggest that the Faro route will also be a winner for passengers to the extent that Ryanair have added an extra day to the service during the peak summer period.”

Faro, famous for its long sandy beaches and sunny weather has been a firm favourite with Irish holiday makers for many years.
